Ever wondered what men think makes a good mate in life?
I know I was curious and I’m already married, so I asked my husband to quickly name 10 things that make a good wife and y'all this post was so much fun! I highly recommend , so here is the list that he gave me some of them are actually hilarious, but they all have meaning which I will expand upon.

I decided to literally type out what he said, and didn't re-word them on purpose!
1. Motivation to look good
2. Understanding of weird work hours
3. Appreciative
4. Communicative
5. Positive energy
6. Cooking
7. Cleaning, basic household needs
8. Similar ambitions
9. Same beliefs
10. Faith

No 1. is huge for the both of us, we always want to show up for each other. No I don’t mean dress to the nines everyday or when you are just sitting around the house but, do take the time when you go out to do your hair/or makeup, ask for his input on your outfit (if you enjoy that)
No 2. if you are a mil spouse, law enforcement, or coaches wife, and etc. Ya feel my pain!! Day to day is so unpredictable and shifts just aren't a thing. They don't need to come home and feel bad about things they simply cannot control.
No. 3. this one seems simple but y'all it is so easy to get caught up in your daily routine and lose those sweet, kind, and considerate moments you shared when you first started dating or got married. Intentionally being present everyday for each other is an accomplishment, and every little thing in between matters.
No. 4. communication is key we've all heard that ,but more than that is active listening. Do not just listen to your spouse long enough to pop off. Listen and hear what they are trying to tell you instead of just waiting to talk.
No. 5. if you are constantly complaining, or seem unhappy (despite what you've always been told about men,) they will notice. They will also assume you are not happy, and they cannot make you satisfied no matter what they do. No one wants to live that kind of roller coaster, now you don't need to be upbeat 24/7 but being aware of your emotions and reactions could make such a difference in your marriage.
No. 6. Ahh this is one that I'm still catching up on. Now I am no pro and never claim to be but I have learned how to cook my husbands favorites (those little things go a long way) so now he is full & happy, while Ive learned a new skill.
No. 7. I don't mind this at all, it’s actually purposeful for me. My husband is out the door and at the office early and throughout the day, so I don't mind keeping the house up its a reflection of the both of us.
No. 8. We definitely don't have the same dreams, but we both have big goals. This overseas position is temporary and we have dreams well beyond japan. I admire all his hard work & determination. My husband is attracted to the passion and drive I have to better myself even though my current title is simply wife.
No. 9. This one hits a little harder than normal since the current state of our world is tipsy, if my husband and I had radically different beliefs & political views theres no way we'd even be able to be in the same room as one another!
No. 10. This one was a biggie for the both of us, we both were raised in a religious home. Me and my husband prayed for spouses, just had no idea we were praying for one another. This is the most important factor as our lives move forward and when we decide to expand our family one day. I recommend referring to Proverbs 31, for the wife seeking guidance on those hard days our faith can move mountains we just have to make it through the valley, and thankfully we are never alone.
This obviously isn't an exhaustive list of characteristics that will ensure you become the world's #1 wife award, but there are some pretty good points to ponder on whether you've been married for 10 years, 2 months, engaged, dating, or trying to find your soulmate!
I challenge you to ask your significant other or parents the exact same question I asked mine, you never know what kind of answers you'll get!
