Bring on the Blonde!

After being here for almost three months it was definitely passed time to highlight my hair. I did a lot of research about local salons in our area and the salon located on base. I inevitably decided to make an appointment with the salon on our base, because I knew they were familiar with styling American women's hair. Overall I would honestly say that I am pleased!
I for sure miss my stylist back home, but I didn't come out with orange hair and for me that seemed to be a win. The Japanese woman that highlighted my hair was beyond friendly and interactive the entire time I was in the salon.

Biggest differences:
The Japanese salons use almost twice the amount of foils verses the states.
You MUST wear your mask the whole time! Which doesn't seem like a big deal until theres no air in the building, blow drier running, and your mask isn't breathable!
When it is time to wash your hair, there is a long pillow and a foot stool at the end of a chair for you to completely lay down and relax as you are getting your hair washed.
They place a washcloth over your eyes to ensure relaxation
They are VERY thorough when washing your hair, they will even spend time scrubbing the ends of your hair.
After washing your hair they place a warm towel under your neck, and massage your scalp! P.S I literally want to go back just to experience this, it was amazing!
The price tag is higher than state side, but the quality is top notch plus the ladies working were an absolute blast!
I am very pleased with the blonde she was able to achieve with my hair, and the relief I felt knowing I wasn't about to have to teach myself how to color my own hair! So if you are ever on Camp Zama, go get yourself a haircut just for the scalp massage!

Side Note: The stylist found a grey hair today, and asked me, "Did you know it was there?" I was dying laughing as I told her no. I told her we would just blame it on my husband who happened to be walking in at the time! I suppose I am aging early and will just have to keep up the blonde routine.
